Counterfeit Love

Love is at the core of every person. Everyone in the world longs for true love, but only a few express it.

As a result, because of its scarcity, our minds often mistake counterfeit love for the real thing.

What is

Counterfeit Love?

Counterfeit love is when someone says they love you, but their actions don’t back up their words, like empty promises.

Sometimes, the counterfeiter will do rare acts of kindness to trick you into believing they love you.

Friend, you don’t deserve counterfeit love!

You were made for true love!

True Love

What is

True Love?

True love is when someone not only says they love you but also consistently proves it through their actions. They don’t just talk the talk; they walk the walk.

They prioritize you above themselves, listen to you, take care of you, make you feel seen, and so much more!

Friend, people will fail you, even people who truly love you.

But, there is one who truly loves you and will never fail you.

His name is Jesus!

THE EXAMPLE OF LOVE

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of love. He has demonstrated His love for us in a way that no one else could.

“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. We love because He loved us first.”

1 John 3:16, 4:19

Jesus loves you so much that He willingly chose to leave His heavenly throne behind Him for a time and take on our sins for us.

“[Jesus] gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.”

Philippians 2:7

He voluntarily became the solution on behalf of the people He loves, including you!

He doesn’t want to spend another day disconnected from you.

“Through [Jesus] God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

Colossians 1:20

“No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily.”

John 10:18

THE EXAMPLE OF LOVE

The Fulfillment

Jesus says…

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

John 15:13

Our sins separated us from God, but that doesn’t have to be the case anymore.

Jesus laid down His life for you so you could be with Him forever.

“Your [sins] have separated you from God; your sins have hidden his face from you.”

Isaiah 59:2

“This is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

Jesus wants you “as-is”, with all your scars, flaws, and imperfections. You don’t need to earn His love because He loved you first.

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”

1 John 4:10

“Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:39

Regardless of your past, He made a commitment to you and He will never break it on His end.

It all starts with your decision.

“Neither do I [Jesus] condemn you; go and sin no more.”

“I [Jesus] am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Pray this aloud whether it is a whisper or a shout!

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me enough to die on my behalf so that I could have a relationship with you. I confess that I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me for my sins and cleanse me with Your blood. I have decided to turn away from my sins and start anew. I receive your genuine love and I ask that You come into my life, and be the Lord of my life. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen!
